there will be no surprises. Assurance means that your software does
what you expect it will do, and there will be no unexpected gotchas,
such as complaints from your security group that they cannot secure it,
from your operations that they cannot operate it, or from your support
group that they cannot maintain it.
Assurance is not
something to take for granted. It is not the norm for custom-built
software. You must take steps to ensure that you achieve the assurance
that you expect and need.
